About Belvoir Pet Hospital

Belvoir Pet Hospital was built as a veterinary clinic in 1938, by Dr. David Elsasser. He and his wife lived on the second floor and raised their three daughters there. Dr. Joseph N. Farkas graduated from The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1964, and began practicing with Dr. Elsasser that year. Joe was later joined by his new wife, Dr. Marty Farkas (OSU grad, 1965) and the Drs. Farkas purchased the practice in 1972.

Marty and Joe Farkas practiced as a team for over 33 years until their son, Joseph J. Farkas "Butch" joined the practice in 1998. Butch purchased the practice in 2003. In May 2004, Dr. Marty Farkas passed away suddenly. Dr. Joseph N. Farkas, his son "Butch" and Dr. Carol Radinsky (who joined the practice in 2005) currently practice together at Belvoir.

Hospital Policies

Appointment Policy

Regular appointments are usually allotted an average of 20 - 40 minutes to ensure your animal has a complete physical exam and that there is time for your questions and concerns to be addressed. Client education is VERY important to us.

We do not double book our appointments but there are times when a sick animal must be seen right away and is squeezed into the schedule.

Because of our generous appointment times, repeated "missed-no show" or if you are "late to arrive" for appointments may lead to charges against your account and/or denied future scheduling. This is a rare occurrence but we do have to point this out to be fair to all of our clients.

Patient Arrival Policy

For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms.

All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash.

Payment Policy

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express Cards, cash and personal checks.
